When you buy this course, I assume you will have some good working knowledge of Silver Clay – you don’t have to be an expert, just someone who can roll and texture, add bails and finish their work. A rudimetary understanding of shrinkage and different Silver Clays would help too - although everything is explained in the course.
In this Wrist Candy - Adornments for Your Wrist made with Silver Clay workshop you will learn:
- How to size your wrist for making bangles
- How to calculate the shrinkage so that your bangle will fit after firing
- How to create a torque bangle
- How to design a cuff template
- How to make a wide and a slim cuff including the very tricky part about rolling and texturing the clay
- How to work harden your wrist wear so that they have the spring they need to retain their shape
- How to make an integral hinge
- How to make a hinged bracelet with multiple panels and hinges
- How to make a tab clasp
A KILN is also necessary for this online workshop. I do offer a kiln firing service if you don’t have access to one.
